The bar chart illustrates gender distribution of teachers across a range of levels of education in the UK in the year 2010.
Overall, the percentage of male teachers rose as the educational levels increase. By constrast, the figure for female teacher experienced a downwards trend towards higher tiers.
In 2010, nursery, pre-school and primary school appeared to be female-dominated, with roughly 98% and 92% of teachers were women respectively. Male and female teachers were more equally presented in secondary school and private training institution since the gender gaps were around 10%. Colledge noticeably had a striking 50-50 balance in terms of the number of teachers of two sexes. Finally, the proportion of male universtiy lecturers more than doubled that of their counterparts, at 70% compared to 20%.
