The chart below shows the percentage of male and female teachers in six different types of educational setting in the UK in 2010
The bar chart compares the proportion of gender of teachers in six kinds of educational in the UK in 2010.
It is clear from the bar chart that women taught more in a lower educational setting. Additionally, men took part more in teaching higher levels of educational during the research period.
In nursery/pre-school and primary school, the rate of women in these two levels was highest at 97% and 92%, While the figure for men was significantly lower, at 4% and 8 % respectively. At secondary school and college, the gap between males and females represented were nearly equal.
By contrast, the percentage of men in university increased to approximately 70%, whereas only about 30% of women. Meanwhile, the figure for male and female teachers were 54% and 46% in private training institutes.
