The chart below represents the total amount of calling time in the United Kingdom applying three different calling measures over the period 1995 to 2002. From the graph it is clear that local-fixed line accounted for the greatest proportion among these categories, while mobile remain the least popular line, the national and international-fixed line increased moderately, was the second trendiest type of calling.
In term of the call type using national and international fixed-line began at the number of nearly 37 billion minutes in 1995 then gradually went up until 2001 to 60 billion minutes, means that twice higher than that of 1995. However, there was a slight increase between 2001 and 2002, from 60 to 62 billion to state its position as the second selected call category. With regard to mobile call, there was similar prevalence to the aforementioned line. The quantity of this call type underwent a significant development over an 8-year period, from just over 3 billion to peak at 45 in 2002.
In the inverse trend to the two mentioned call lines, local-fixed line had the fluctuation over the times. The amount of time calling measured by this telephone rise steadily until 1999, with 72 and reach a peak at 90 billion minutes. In contrast, the amount of calling time went down slowly until 2002 when the data mark at 71 billion. Nonetheless, the local-fixed line was the most phone call made in the UK.
In conclusion, the usage of three call categories in England is still following the upward trend.
