The chart below illustrates one nation’s export revenue from five distinct industries during 2015 and 2016 and the table data presents the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
Upon analyzing the data, it becomes evident that petroleum products and engineered goods generated most of the national export turnover while textiles was the lowest-valued sector. In addition, except for gems and jewelry, there was an upward trend in all exported products, especially, textiles experienced the largest transition in the period.
In terms of the two major sources of export revenue during the two recorded years, petroleum products and engineered goods had comparable export values, with the former category having slightly higher income than the latter. In 2015, gas and oil products achieved the highest income with around 61 billion dollars followed by approximately 58 billion dollars for engineered products. However, in 2016, the figure for petroleum products just increased modestly by 3% while engineered products witnessed a significant rise of 8.5% and reached the same level as petroleum fuels.
Besides, the remaining three kinds of export goods contributed to a national budget of under 50 billion dollars. Gems and jewelry ranked third in five areas generating roughly 42 billion dollars in 2015 followed by agricultural products with slightly above 30 billion dollars. However, the following year, the income of precious stones and ornaments underwent a slight drop of 5.18% while turnover from farming products seemed to stay stable with quite a small change rate of 0.81%. The export earnings of garment products were the lowest which was approximately half of petroleum products during the period despite a dramatic climb of 15,24% in 2016.
