Overall, export earnings increased in the 2-year period, except for the gems and jewelry earnings. Earning from petroleum products was the highest among those of 5 categories.
Look at the chart first, in 2016, export earning from petroleum products was the highest, which was over $65 billion, came after by that of engineered goods with about $63 billion. Textiles brought the lowest earning among 5 categories, which was only over $35 billion. These number of gems and jewelry and agricultural products were over $50 billion and $40 billion respectively. In 2015, petroleum products and engineered goods still had the highest values of exports with nearly the same amount of $70 billions. gems and jewelry had over $50 billion earning. In the meanwhile, agricultural goods and textiles were two categories bringing the least earnings with the same amount of over $40 billion.
The percentage change in value in 2015 and 2016 had an upward trend in 4 categories. Textiles had the fastest increase, which was 15,24%; came after by engineered goods with 8,5%. petroleum products increased 3% in value. This number of agricultural products was only 0,81%, which was the lowest change among 4 types of goods. In contrast, there was a downward trend in the export value of gems and jewelry, which decrease 5,18% in 2016.
