The chart below shows the value of one country’s exports in various categories during 2015 and 2016. The table shows the percentage change in each category of exports in 2016 compared with 2015.
The charts given illustrate the changes in export earnings of a country through five diferent industries from 2015 to 2016 measured in billions of dollars. Overall, this country experienced a upward trend in all earnings except for gems and jewellery, which experienced a moderate drop. While petroleum products and engineered goods ranked first, it was the textiles that ranked last in the contribution in the revenue.
The two main earners were petroleum products, which slightly went from just over $60 billion to $63 billion in 2016, and engineered goods with a more sizeable increase from $57 billion to $.62 billion. That translated to a mere 3% rise for the petroleum and nearly 9% rise for the engineered products.
In comparison with these two main exports, the other industries were much lower. Gems and jewellery, the only to decrease, fell to a 5,18% low from $44 billion to just over $40 billion. Despite this moderate reduction, there was a negligible growth in the value of agricultural products at 9,81% from $31 billion to $32 billion .It is worth noting that, textiles were the lowest in 2015 with about $26 billion ,however, it made a hefty 15% leap to a level as high as agricultural products in 2016.
