A closer look at the bar chart highlights the fact that the number of overweight women experienced an increasing trend and was much less than that of men during the thirty-year period, from 1980 to 2010.
In 1980, the number of male who was overweight was nearly 20 percent higher than female. Over the next 10 years, the figure had not changed much for male, which was just over a half, however, 10 percent more of women had experienced diabetes. 2010 witnessed a dramatic growth in the number of obese male and a gradual increase in their counterpart’s figure, which both had reached their peak in this year. In the period end, the number of overweight women stabilised, while that of men went down slightly and both figures rose by 20 percent when compared to the beginning of the period.
