Overall, the number of the Australian female was consistently the highest over the entire period. Plus, France witnessed the least significant upturn in the figure in comparison to other three countries.
Specifically, the period between 1980 and 2015 revealed that no special changes were recorded in the female enrolment for Australia. At the bottom was the proportion of female higher students in South Korea, which stood at about 15% in 1980 then jumped twofold in the next 35 years.
Furthermore, a half of the total number of women in France went to further education in 1980, which was approximately 14% higher than the UK and the USA. However, the figures for the UK and USA showed a more significant rise of 20%, which surpassed that of France that slightly grew until 2015
