The pie chart delivers statistics of youngsters' main drive for using smartphones, measured in percentage, from 2016 to 2019. The reasons included is using social platforms, sending email, taking digital photos and making phone calls.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that social networks accounts for the most proportion throughout the given period. Surprisingly, teenagers using their phones for phone calls was the least relevant case.
At the beginning of the period, a half of young people used their electronic devices because of social networks. This number had a small dip in 2017 but increased in the following years until reached its peak at 56% at the end of the period. In contrast, phone calls stood at 10% in 2016 then slightly increased to 13% until significantly dropped to 5% in 2019.
Other primary means such as taking photos experienced an upward trend, but a slow rate. This proportion added up to 4% in 4 years. Interestingly, email witnessed an opposite trend with camera figures, which is a drop of 6%.
