This chart shows the top eight honeymoon destinations for newlywed British couples in 2010. The results come from a survey of 5,000 couples.
The bar chart compares the number of British couples who recently got married in different eight honeymoon destinations including Spain, Paris, Thailand, The Lake District, The Maldives, The Greek Islands, Bali, and Costa Rica in 2010.
Overall, Thailand was the number-one honeymoon destination for honeymooners while the quantity of newlywed British couples who chose The Lake District was the lowest.
Thailand, The Maldives, Bali and Costa Rica were the four destinations where attracted a lot of couples. Particularly, the most domineering category was Thailand where appealed 1410 couples who recently started a family. This was followed by Bali, with 1335 couples spending their honeymoon there. Besides, roughly 750 of newlywed couples indicated they preferred visiting Costa Rica, compared with fewer couples who chose The Maldives for their honeymoon, with 600 couples.
In stark contrast, Spain, Paris, The Lake District, and The Greek Island were less popular destinations for honeymooners. The Greek Island was twice as popular as Paris where appealed to 432 and 209 of couples respectively. Specially, only under 150 newlywed British couples decided to visit Spain and Thailand as their honeymoon destinations.
