Firstly, in the first quarter of 2012, the unemployed rate in rural areas of Australia witnessed a great decline from about 6,5% to 4,5%. After that, it rose to 5,3% in the next quarter and kept fluctuating throughout the two left quarter until met the final rate of 5% at the end of the year.
Secondly, in urban Australia, in the first quarter of 2012, the unemployment proportion suddenly surged from over 2% to exactly 4%, although it was still lower compared to the rate in rural regions. In the next quarter, the proportion immediately dropped to 2% and oscillated in the third quarter. Finally, it increased stably from 3,5% to nearly 5% at the last period of the year. Additionally, the unemployment percentage in urban areas in 2012 was constantly higher in rural ones according to the given statistics.
