The line graph compares unemployment rates in the countrysides and cities during four quarters in Australia in the year 2012.
Overall, At first sight, there was an opposite fluctuation of the proportion of unemployment between rural and urban areas. Besides, the unemployment situation in metropolis cities was more serious than countrysides.
Looking at the chart closely, in the first quarter, the unemployment rate in the cities was 2% whereas this figure for people in rural areas was three-time those. The percentages of people unemployed in countrysides dressed sharply to 4.5%, however, this rates in metropolis cities grew up by 2% in the second quarter.
In contrast, in the next quarter, the proportion of unemployed persons in urban areas was approximately 2%, less than 3% compared with rural areas. Then, the unemployment situation in the countrysides fluctuated slightly while urban areas' unemployment rates climb up to around 5%.
