The bar chart demonstrates key data on the hobbies of Bristish population according to different age groups in the year 2016, whilst the pie charts compare their level of interests by gender.
Overall, it is clear in a glance that gardening was regarded as the major hobby for the 75 or over age group, while most of the young opted for travelling. Furthermore, there are quite similar patterns regarding the proportion of activities of males and females.
In detail, as regards the first graph, it can be clearly seen that those aged 24 to 35 were reported to be keen on travelling the most, standing at 76%, more than tripling the figure for the oldest group. The 16-24 and 35-50 age groups, meanwhile, witnessed the same trend, with 71%, whereas half of those aged between 50 and 75 prefered travelling. On the contrary, people aged 75 or over were most interested in gardening activities (72%), significantly outstripping the figure for the 50-75 group (30%) and the total percentage of three younger categories (just 27%). The statistics for studying were relatively similar (except for the 75+ group), registering between 15% and 20%.
Turning to the other charts, travelling was considered to be the least favored option for both genders, with 29% for women and 32% for men. At the same time, males and females had the same passion for learning, accounting for roughly a third each. Finally, 38% of women responded to love gardening, compared to a slightly lower figure for men at 35%.
