The charts illustrate the information regarding the ratio of the marriages and divorces of the american from 1970 to 2000, as well as depreciate the percentage of the martial status of american adults in these two years.

Overall, the rate of the marriages remains at peak as compared to divorces in the USA over the period given. While the percentage of the married american people is most significant whereas the proportion of divorced people is least significant as shown by the chart.

First of all, in 1970, the number of the married people was 2.5 millions, and remains unchanged till the next decade.Whereas the divorces rate was 1 millions, in 1970, which was increased slightly to around 1.1 millions in the year of 1980. After this year, there was a gradual decrease in the figure of the american adults who was married to exactly 2 millions in contrast with the divorce which was fell moderately to approximately 1 million at the end of the period.

Secondly, the percentage of the american people was around 70 percent in 1970 which was go down to around 60 percent. Similarly, the widowed people had slightly decreased ( from 10 percent to about 5 percent) from 1970 to 2000 respectively.
In contrast with, the amount of the adults who were never married and divorced had increased in these respective years.
