The charts below show the changes in ownership of electrical appliances and amount of time spent doing housework in households in one country between 1920 and 2019.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where revelant.
The first graph gives information about the changes in the percentage of electrical installations of a country from 1920 to 2019. While the second one demonstrates how much time people spent on housework during the same period.
Overall, it is clear that growth in the number of electrical appliances was roughly consistent. Simultaneously, the amount of time spent on doing housework continuously dropped.
In 1920, 40% of households owned washing machines, which finally reached 75% in 2019, despite the slight decrease in 1980. Also in 1920, 30% households had vacuum cleaners, while no refrigerator was owned at that time. After that, both of the statics surged and the latter surpassed the former when eventually from 2000, every household owned vacuum and fridge.
The second chart shows that 50 hours per week was spent on chores per family in 1920. This figure witnessed a gradual decrease until 2019, only 10 hours per week was spent on doing housework due to the consistent rise in the ownership of electrical appliances.
