Overall, it is seen that the world population is increasing every year and Tokyo was the only city with the highest population in every period.
Talking about Tokyo, the graph showed it that was the city with the highest population over 15 million in 1970, whereas Jakarta reached almost 2.5 million in the same year. Then, in 1990, Tokyo stood again the top accounting for almost 25 million. In contrast, Jakarta nearly got less than 10 million.
On the other hand, the only american city, New York, with 12.5 inhabitants, represented more than all the population of Moscow and Paris together (5.3 million each).
Finally, if the population in rural and urban areas is analyzed, it is seen that the first one was increasing from 1980 to 2010, meanwhile, the second one was growing up from 1980 to 2010 but, since that year, it started decreasing. It was at 2 billion in 1990 which was almost double in 2010 whereas the rural population was steady in its growth and reached 3.2 billion.
