The charts below show the main reasons for study among students of different age groups and the amount of support they receive from employers.
The charts represent two main reasons (career and interest) to study according to student's age and the employer's support for their tuition fees. Units are measured in a percentage.
Overall, the career reasons are reduced as the student's age goes up, in opposed to the interest reasons. It is interesting to note that, about same proportion for study for both reasons for student with 40 to 49 years of age. Employers tend to support for younger employees than that of older employees except for the age of 30 to 39.
Looking in details for career reasons for study, 80% of students under 26 years old was the highest proportion among other age groups and this proportion continued to decrease to reach at close to 20% for students over 49 years old. In comparison for the interest reasons, which proportion was the lowest for students under 26 years old (of 10%) and continued to increase to reach of 70% for students over 49 years old.
Coming to employers' support for the tuition fees, employees under 26 received the highest support from employers (of around 65%) and it declined to around 33% for students with 30 to 39 years of age. Then the employer's support rose to 45% for students over 49.
