The charts below show the percentage of people working in different sectors in town A and town B in 1960, 2010.
The given charts give information about the percentage of workers in three different sectors namely: manufacturing, sales and services in 1960 and 2010.
It can be seen in the graph that the figure for service-related jobs in town A was by far the most prevalent sector that attracted workers in 2010. Meanwhile, in town B, manufacturing jobs accounted for the biggest proportion over the period of time.
In 1960, in town A, working in the service sector accounted for 41%, while the sales and manufacturing made up comparable percentages of workers, at 29% and 30% respectively. The year 2010, witnessed a significant increase in the proportion of service-related jobs at 64%, which was doubled than that in 1960. By contrast, the number of jobs in the two other industries experienced a remarkable drop at 20% and 16% in turn.
In town B, all figures experienced an upward trend except for working in manufacturing sectors. Moreover, service-related jobs witnessed a remarkable increase from 10% in 1960 to a quarter at the end of the period. Similarly, there was a marginal growth of 2% in the proportion of sale-related jobs. Although, the percentage of workers in manufacturing jobs dropped by nearly one-third from 70% in 1960 to more than a half in 2010, it still recorded the highest figure among all the categories.
