The following piecharts depict the percentage consumption of the water in four countries in six different regions.
Overall, it is clear that the agriculture occupies the most of the piechart in four areas like Africa, Central and South Asia; South America whereas the domestic use scores the least percentage in most countries except for Africa, Central Asia and South America.
As it is shown, the two parts of Asia directed the largest proportion of their water supply towards agriculture which accounted for more than four-fifths of the two piecharts collectively. In contrast, the industry uses only less than fifth of the country,’s water supply. On the other hand, the use of water in domestic purposes remains constant in both parts of Asia at a mere 7 percent.
In spite of using one in ten of America’s supply in industry which is for South America, the industry scores 48% in North America which is approximately three times the percentage found in South America. However, when looking at the domestic use, it only occupies nearly a fifth of the piechart of South America’s water usage while less than a fifth in North America. Furthermore, more than half of Europe’s water supply is directed towards industry and almost a third towards farming and only 15% in domestic use.
