The pie charts below give information about the water usage sectors including industrial, domestic, and agriculture sectors in six different parts of the world.
According to the charts, the dominant water usage in South America, Africa, Central Asia, and South East Asia is in the agriculture sector. In contrast, Europe and North America have more focus on industrial consumption.
A more detailed look at charts, Europe has the highest percentage of industrial and lowest agricultural water consumption among others which are respectively about 53% and 15%. On the other hand, in central Asia, 88% of water used is in the agriculture sector and only 5% is dedicated to the industry which is the lowest amount compared to the other parts of the globe. North America with 48% stands on the second place in industrial water consumption. Domestic usage proportion in South America is about 19% however in other regions it is below 15%. South East Asia and central Asia both only spend 7% of the water for domestic purposes.
In summary, Europe, central Asia, and South America respectively have the greatest percentage of water use in industry, agriculture, and domestic area.
