The charts illustrate the number of people who were affected by 4 types of noise pollution in day and night in cities and rural areas in 2007.
The supplied bar charts compare how many people living in both urban and rural areas were influenced by the four distinct groups of noise pollution during the daytime and the nighttime in 2007
Overall, more inhabitants in cities were disturbed by noises than the rustic villagers, mostly caused by the traffic. Besides, conspicuously, citizens were annoyed more excessively in the daytime.
During the daytime, traffic noise affected 64 million urban citizens and 34 million villagers, whereas 48 million individuals living in cities were interrupted, doubling the number of inhabitants in rustic areas. Influencing much less severely, train noise disturbed 10 million and 8 million people in both estates in the daytime, up to 2 million in each group at night.
In terms of the remaining two sources, fewer inhabitants were bothered. Apparently, the noise from aircraft just affected under 4 million city residents during a day, compared to below 1 million of those who were affected by industry. Furthermore, a tiny fraction of residents in villages were annoyed by aircraft and industry noises.
