Cocoa bean production
The graph illustrates data about the total amount of cocoa bean produced in six regions from 1992 to 1998.
It is striking that Africa is the top place with more than 1,500 million tons of cocoa throughout the time. It is also conspicuous that apart from North and Central America and Oceania, four remaining areas does not produced any cocoa bean.
Africa reached its peak in 1996 with nearly 2 million tons of cocoa after experiencing fluctuations in 1992 and 1994 and then fell down at the end of the period with more than just 1,800 million.
South America, Asia and Caribbean shared the same pattern of its data when decreased in 1996 and increased in 1998, 157 to 164 thousand and 94 to 98 thousand, respectively. The proportion of North and Central America remained stable throughout the whole period with no serious ups and downs. However, Oceania is the county that suffered a diminution from 41 thousand to 31 in tons.
