The bar chart compares the percentage of visitors to Scotland and went to see Edinburgh attractions from 1980 to 2010. We can see that in 1980 and in 2010, the favorite attraction was the castle and the festival. In 1980, the least popular attraction was the zoo but, in 2000, this changed and the least popular was the aquarium.
During the 1980s and 1990s, there was a significant rise from 25% to 45%, but in 2000, visitors fell gradually to more than 30% in castle. The trend for aquarium was similar to the castle. Visitors who are interested in aquarium grew dramatically from 20% to 35%, and then, there was a considerable decrease to less than 10% in 2000 . The percentage of Zoo tourists fluctuated during the period of 1980s to 2000s, and after that, visitors jumped suddenly to 20% over the next 10 years. The number of tourists who visited the festival fluctuated slightly but in general , visitors remained stable at about 25%.
