The pictures illustrate the layout of a public library 20 years ago and now.
Overall, its previous purpose was mostly for reading until being repurposed into a library emphasized on technology with the removal of tables and chairs in the center, the alteration of the reading room to a computer one.
Upon the entrance, 20 years ago, there were tables or chairs before their removal today. In the top right corner, there used to be a zone for children’s books before being replaced with a lecture room. Near this zone was a place for adults’ non-fictions before switching to store adults’ fictions. There is now a newly-added inclusion of an information desk and self-service machines. Moreover, the old inquiry desk in the bottom right corner is now a coffee shop for visitors.
To the left side of the floor, there was an area for CDs, games, videos located before officially expanded and repurposed to events and children’s fictions’ zone 20 years later. Next to it used to be a place for storing adults’ fictions, but with all references now. In the bottom left corner, a reading room has been replaced with a computer one today.
