The diagram below shows the floor plan of a public library 20 years ago and how it looks now.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The picture illustrates how the Central Library has changed over the past 20 years.
Overall, it is apparent that all the facilities have been removed or replaced, except for the entrance.
Specifically, in the middle of the hall, tables and chairs were available but have now been removed. Regarding the left-hand side, the computer room in the southwest corner was replaced by a reading room for magazines and newspapers. Additionally, to the north of this room, a complete removal of the zone for games has been witnessed, which was for a children’s room to be established and storytelling events to be held. The alley for all reference books was also set up substituting that for adult’s fiction books, which was located between the aforementioned reading and gaming room.
In terms of the other side, the room for children’s books in the north and the enquiry desk in the south were erected to make space for a lecture room and a café to operate. The alley between those two rooms, which used to be for adult non-fiction books, has now been taken advantage of to install a number of amenities, including three self-service machines, an information desk, and adult fiction books.
