Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The process map illustrates the way in which electric power is produced in a hydroelectric power station.
Overall, the entire power station is quite huge, as the water from height is thrown down with extremely high pressure, and electricity is generated with the help of generator and supplied to customers through power lines. There are total 5 stages involved in an entire procedure.
Firstly, the flowing river water is stored or collected in a high-level reservoir. In order, to hold the flow of water a dam is constructed. The intake at the bottom of dam is open during day time and closed during night. Post which, the water flows down to the station wherein there are generator and turbines. The movement of water is from upper height to lower in the daylight for manufacturing electric current, whereas the water is pumped in upwards direction during night time with the help of reversible turbines.
Secondly, the high-speed water than falls over turbine due to which the electric energy is produced. After that, the water is settled in low-level reservoir in day period. The power generated through generator is sent through power lines to national grid wherein customer gets it.
