The picture illustrates the production of electricity from geothermal energy. Overall, there are 5 main stages in the process, beginning with collecting water and ending with producing electricity.
In the first stage, cold water is collected and pumped down through an underground pipe. Next, as the water reaches the injection well, which is 4,5 km deep, it goes through a geothermal zone, which includes hot rocks, to get heated before reaching the production well. At this point, the hot water is pumped up and enters a condenser where it is converted to steam. As the steam enters the generator turbine, it moves the turbine and hence powers the generator. As a result, electricity is produced and ready to be distributed.
