adult fish.
The given diagram details the journey of the salmon's life from the period of birth until maturation, which further repeats as a cycle.
Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the entire process consists of eight stages that start with spawning and passes through incubation, emergence, rearing, and adulthood before circling back into the spawning areas.
According to the given illustration, the whole journey begins from the spawning, which leads to the incubation period followed by the laying of eggs. After that, baby fishes emerges out of the eggs to undergo rearing into the freshwater prior to entering the next step.
Moving on, then the fishes switch themselves fro the freshwater rearing to the estuary rearing. From here, they further migrate into the rearing areas, where they grow into mature fishes. Finally, in the end, the adult salmon returns back in the search of the spawning areas to be ready to continue the production cycle.
