Essay topics:

The chart below shows the number of men and women (in thousand) in further education in Britain in three periods and whether they were studying full-time or part-time.

The given bar graphs compare the detailed survey report on men and women proportion (in thousand) choosing higher education as a full time or part-time course in Britain over three different time periods.

Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that women witnessed a continuous upward trend in both types of education, while for men a marginal decline in full time and a slight uptick in part-time trends can be observed. Although part-time courses observed a significant rise, full-time education maintained its popularity among both the genders.

According to the given illustration, about 1 million men were enrolled for full-time courses in 1970/71, the trend fell down by 200k after 1 decade. However, a slight rise in the number moved the bar higher to 850k. In contrast, nearly 3/4th women got admitted to full-time streams in the starting session. Thereafter, the full-time demand kept on rising in each decade and jumped dramatically to a peak value of 1100k by the end of the last session.

On the other hand, Part-time courses also started earning a lime-light among both men and women. At the start, nearly 100k males pursued part-time courses, as against only 1/10th females. With the passing time, women rose 10 times, while men rose marginally by 50k. In the last session, both the genders acquired a similar trend by reaching 200k.
