The given diagram illustrates the process by which sugar is produced from sugar cane. There are seven steps in the entire process, starting with planting sugar cane, reaping them from the farms, squashing them into liquid, filtering, distilling, centrifuging, and ending with drying them to become sugar.
First, people have grown sugar cane for a period of 12-18 months before harvesting. This is the longest stage in the whole process. Second, sugarcane is harvested by farmers or by using a specialized machine. After that, people squeeze them into juice and purify all of the liquid with a limestone filter. The resulting juice now goes through the fifth step, in which people put them under extreme heat to get syrup from the juice. Then the syrup is centrifuged to separate sugar crystals from the syrup before taking in the last phase, where sugar crystals are dried and cooled to collect ready-to-use sugar, that can be packed and sold.
