The diagram below shows the manufacturing process for making sugar from sugar cane.
The picture depicts the process of manufacturing sugar from sugarcane.
In total, there are seven stages in the production of sugar from sugarcane. The process starts with the cultivation of sugarcane and ends with drying and cooling the extracted crystals before officially used as sugar.
To begin the process, the first fundamental stage is to cultivate and grow sugarcane, the main ingredient to create sugar. After 12 to 18 months, the sugarcane reaches the harvesting season, during which farmers can collect them manually or with the help of specialized equipment to quicken the harvesting time.
The subsequent step involves crushing the harvested sugarcane through a machine into a liquid form before purifying it through limestone filter. Then, the purified juice is boiled inside an evaporator until it thickens to a syrup-like substance. Later, a centrifuge will be used to separate sugar crystals from the syrup. After separation, the last step is to dry and cool the crystals before resulting in the final product of sugar.
