Overall, it is clear that there are seven main phases in order to produce sugar, beginning with growing sugar cane and ending with drying and cooling the end product.

First, sugar canes are cultivated over a period from 12 to 18 months before harvesting. Then, they are gathered either by manual labour or by agricultural machines. Additionally, the stalks are crushed in a grinder in order to transform them to juice.

Coming to the condensation stage, the liquid is purified by a limestone filter and then poured into an evaporator where it is heated to eliminate water content and converted into syrup. Next is the separation stage of sugar crystals from syrup which is carried out by centrifuge. The final step is that they are dried and cooled to reach the end product of sugar.
