The diagram illustrates the changes that happened in a neighbourhood after a mall was built.
Overall, the new mall occupied the space where previously there were other things.
Before the mall was constructed, there were two stores on the Main street a book store and a shoe store. Behind the stores, there was an area for woods. Next to the woods, there was a park with a lake in the middle. Across the street from the stores and park, there were houses along the main street. Behind those houses, there were more houses along the oak street.
After the mall was constructed, the area looked quite different. The mall was built where the two stores, the woods and a part of park had been before. The rest of the park turned into a parking lot and the lake was removed. Across the street from the mall, another parking lot was built in a place where houses had been before. The rest of the houses on the main street and all the houses on the oak street did not change.
