The given line graph illustrates data about the numbers of first marriages, remarriages and the total number of marriages from 1950 to 2001. It is manifest from the graph that, a gradual change was observed in the figure of bells, it accounted for 5 decades.
To start with, in 1951, the proportion of all marriages in the U.K. was 450000 and it was followed by first marriages at 350000. By contrast, the number of remarriages in the united kingdom was only 90000 at the same time. From 1951 to 1981, there was a considerable increase in the proportion of first and all marriages in America, while the remarriages number increased slightly with a few fluctuations to around 120000 in America.
Secondly, in the last two decades from 1981 to 2011, the figures for the first and total marriages were significantly decreased. Similarly, the remarriages decreased slightly and constant for the last two years. In 2001, the first and total bells are remain stable when they were in 1951 that is 350000and 450000 respectively. While the figure for remarriages was 110000 in 1991, but after that, it was constant for the last 2 years that is about to 100000.
Overall, it can be seen that total weddings had the highest proportion in the UK for a majority of the given time period. Also, there was a little increase in the remarriages but the other two kinds of bells leveled out in the given time in America.
