The picture illustrates the industrial procedure in which olive oil is produced.
Overall, olive fruits have to go through 7 different stages before reaching customers' hands. Besides, there is no added chemical throughout the production process as the olive is simply treated physically.
Firstly, farmers collect olives by picking them straightly from the olive trees. After harvesting, the manufacturers use a machine to rinse the fruits in cold water. Then, the rinsed olive is smashed, creating two products, olive paste and olive stones. However, given that olive stones is not the ingredient used to produce olive oil, only olive paste is packaged in bags with holes to prepare for the next stage.
In the fifth step, the olive paste is pressed under high pressure. After that, water is separated from the olive oil to create the final product. Finally, olive oil is either stored or shipped to shops where it is ready to be purchased by customers.
