The diagrams below show the design of a wind turbine and its location.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make the comparison where relevant.
The given diagrams illustrate how a wind turbine is structured in order to generate electricity and its possible locations.
Overall it can be seen that the device' design is simple and there are 3 potential places for their establishment.
Looking at the details in the first pictorial, the apparatus comprises three blades made of fiberglass or wood which are placed on top of a steel tower. The wind blows towards the compounded blades and imprints them rotational movements which harness 1.5 megawatts of energy throughout a generator connected to them. The sensor placed next to the blades is controlled by a computer situated nearby the apparatus. Due to this connection, the direction and angle are maintained within the normal range.
Regarding the possible placements, there are 3 options and each has its own benefits. While a turbine mounted on the top of a hill will receive the utmost wind strengths, the one situated under the sea level does not have the same advantage but does not affect the landscape. A domestic location is also available, even though it attains a yield of only 100 kilowatts.
