The given diagram illustrates the life cycle of a spices of large fish called the salmon, from "fry" to "adult salmon" stage.

It is seem that the whole life of every single salmon includes three basic steps. At each stage, they have different names, namely "fry", "smolt" and "adult salmon". Beside, these fishes also grow in a range of suitable environment in their life cycle.

Firstly step, salmon eggs are in the bottom of river (slow moving-to be precise) hidden between small stones and reeds approximate 5-6 months. After that, they break the eggs and become a small fish. Next, because of moving ability, these salmon will change the habitat. The river fast flowing is required, namely lower river. They live there almost 4 years. Move to the second step, "smolt" is a salmon about 12-15 cm, which will swim to the open sea. The fishes stays here 5 years. Finally, "adult salmon" has a huge size ever, 70 - 76 cm. The long journey is begun when salmon swim from ocean and back to the upper river. The new generation will be born again and again.

As long as, the salmon life cycle still maintains, new generation will always be born and grow like the diagram.
