The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The first pie chart illustrates the way of power consumption in a typical home in Australia. The second pie chart demonstrates the amount of carbon dioxide and other harmful gases emitted as by-product of utilizing energy.

Over, it can be seen that heating in general is the most used type of energy in Australia. Meanwhile, it accounts for nearly half of gas emission.

First, Australians mainly use a major percentage of their energy either in heating or water heating (42% and 30% respectively) and these two result in a significant amount of gas emission where 32% of carbon dioxide results from water heating and 15% from heating. Other appliances utilize 15% of energy and emit nearly double of this percentage (28%).

On the other hand, cooling, lighting and refrigeration constitute all together the least significant energy consumption (4%, 2% and 7% respectively) and cause the emission of less significant percentage of greenhouse gas (3% due to cooling and 8% due to lighting) except for refrigeration which allows for a more significant percentage (14%).
