As the diagram suggests, heating consumes 42% of the total energy which is majority of the total energy utilized in an Australian household. It is followed by water heating system which requires 30% of the generated power. Other appliances consumes 15% energy which is higher in relation to power utilized by refrigeration, lighting and cooling.
Moving to the second chart, the water heating system contributes a large proportion of greenhouse gas emission that is 32%. Other appliances, though consumes lesser percentage of energy, emitted almost double amount of energy (28%), similar is the case with refrigeration which releases 14% of the total energy. Heating emitted comparatively lesser energy (15%). The percentage of greenhouse gas emission remained moderate in terms of cooling and lighting.
As an overall trend, warming up is the most prominent matter in case of consumption and emission of energy. Whereas, cooling up had the least notable change.
