The two pie charts compare and contrast data on the exploitation of energy by six various household facilities in Australia and the amount of greenhouse gas which is produced by these on average.
In total, most electricity goes for heating houses whilst water heating releases by far the largest proportion of greenhouse gas. On the other hand, cooling constitutes the lowest percentage of both energy consumption and the gas production according to the graphs.
More specifically, 42% of energy is spent on heating in the given country. Regarding water heating, it comprises a relatively lower share with 30%, which is twice as much as the figure of other appliances. However, lighting and cooling require a far lower quantity of energy, making up 4% and 2% respectively.
Turning to the air pollution that is caused by this energy use in Australia, water heating accounts for 32% of the emissions. In addition, refrigeration and heating register almost the equal figure with approximately 15% for each category. Lastly, the process of cooling is more environmentally-friendly compared to that of lighting (3% for the former against 8% for the latter).
