The first chart below shows household energy consumption in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse-gas gas emissions which stem from energy usage.
Australian household energy consumption separates into six elements. Those are shown by different percentage. Heating takes the lion's share with a hefty 42% but greenhouse gas emission related to that shows a minor rate with 15%.
It can be seen from the charts that cooling has taken the minimum percentage both energy use and gas emission by 2 and 3 respectively. Refrigeration and lighting's consumption under the ten per cent. Refrigeration consumption almost twice than the lighting. When we take consider the two elements which i mention previous sentence, their gas emissions doubled the consumptions.
Water heating consumption has the second percentage rate after heating consumption with 30% but it is responsible the most gas emission. While other appliances consumption is not striking as the others but emission rate is granted for 28%.
