The second chart shows their destinations over the same period.

The table illustrates the purpose of UK residents who traveled over sea in each of the years from 1994 to 1998 while the bar chart gives information about their destination in the similar period.
Overall, it is clear that holiday and business trip were the majority reason and the best place to visit was Western Europe.
To begin, there was an increase in the number of UK people traveled to other countries from 1994 to 1998. During the second years, total of number traveller dropped slightly from 22072 to nearly 21500. However, this number grew steadily to reach a peak at roughly 28828 in the year 1998.
Look at the bar graph in more detail, Western Europe was the best option during the period. In 1994, just under 20000 UK citizens visit Western Europe, compared with about 1000 into North America. In addition, after a slight drop in 1995, the number of UK citizens traveled rose significantly to reach at about 24000 in 1998 while two other regions just witnessed a slight increase.
