Below given map illustrates the two potential sites for a novel supermarket intended for the town of Garlsdon, with a populace of 65,000; wherein the locations under consideration are on the northwest and south of Garlsdon.
It can be seen that the proposed site S1, on the outskirts of Garlsdon, has a rail route relatively close by, intersecting the town, while, a main road connects the town to Hindon, 12 Kms afar, whose population is 10,000. Meanwhile, on the eastern side of S1 is a residential area whilst another housing area is located towards the south of S2.
With regard to S2, located within the town centre, a no parking zone, has a railway route fairly close to it, and, two main roads connecting the town to Brandson, with 15,000 residents, 16 Kms away and Cransdon, lying 25 Kms away with a census of 29,000 respectively, hence making the supermarket easily accessible to their inhabitants.
In conclusion both S1 and S2 have excellent accessibility to public transport. With respect to distance, S2 is easily accessible to majority of the population, but, being located in a no traffic zone makes it less convenient for car users. By contrast, S1, can provide exceptional parking space but, it would be difficult to reach for the residents of town and nearby areas; unless, they opt-in to avail the benefits of the public transport.
