The graph above compares the amount of money people in the US and UK spend on fuel based on their income level.

In the United States, the poorest people spend about 4% of their income on fuel. The percentage slowly decreases as the income level increases. Poor citizens of the United States peak at just over 5%, after that the percentage goes into a steady decline as the income level progresses. Finally, as the graph moves on to the highest level of income, the percentage of expenditure reaches its lowest point on the graph.

The number of money citizens of the United Kingdom spend on fuel steadily rises as the income level of the citizens increases. The line stays steady throughout both the poorest and middle-income citizens, then reaches a plateau once the level of income reaches to the richest citizens. The money spent on fuel slightly increases towards the end, surpassing the United States’ percentage of expenditure.

Overall, in the United States, the percentage of expenditure goes down as the level of income goes up. While in the United Kingdom, the percentage of expenditure increases as the level of income increases.
