The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004
The line graph provides information about how much meat and fish was weekly consumed by per person in a European country, over the period of 25 years.
Overall, what stands out from the graph is that there was a considerable upward trend in the consumption of chicken, while that of beef and lamb saw a considerable fall over in the given period. Another interesting point is that in the first decade, the most popular meat was beef, which was, then, replaced by chicken. In addition, the quantity of fish used was the least, by comparison with the others, over the whole period.
Looking at the details, the figure for beef stood at 220 grams in 1979. In the following 5 years, it increased to 240 while the indicators of lamb decreased from 150 to 100. From 1984 to 1989, there was no significant change in the quantity of beef. The indicators of lamb then continued to fall down with fluctuation and stood at 60 at the end of the period, in 2004. If we look at the consumption of beef, trend was similar. The figure for chicken increased from 150 in 1979 to 250 in 2004, whereas the quantity of fish consumed dipped from 50 to 49.
