Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The given bar chart compares the different extent of contribution of three economic zones, namely agriculture, manufacturing, and business and financial services, to the United Kingdom economy in one century commencing from 1900.
Overall, what stands out from the graph is that there was a downward trend in almost all surveyed contexts, albeit to a different degree; such a decrease was more pronounced in the case of agriculture. Moreover, it is clear that business and financial sector was the only area to experience a dramatic rise.
In 1990, about nearly 50% of the UK economy was agricultural work. However, this proportion got swollen to about 53% by 1950, making an overall decline of just 3% for a 50 year period. While manufacturing sector was just under 40% at that time, the figure experienced a slight decrease to around 35% in 1975. This made it become a more significant sector compared to agriculture as this area made an exponential nosedive to approximately 10% in the year 1975.
In regard to business and finance, the figure for this factor contributed about just 3% to the UK economy in the 1900s. The proportion then started to rise gradually to nearly one tenth and one fifth of the total economy in 1950 and 1975 respectively. The figure of business and finance, however, experienced a pronounced upsurge to around 40%, making an overall rise of about 37% as compared to the first year studied. As a result, it was the most significant sector of the UK company in the 2000s.
