The line graph compares the number of air pollutants from three sources in the UK between 1990 and 2005.
Overall, it is clear that the total amount of air pollutions was reasonably fell during this period. Besides, air pollutants from the industrial sector were witnessed a significant decline.
In 1990, the total amount of air pollutants in the UK was 7 million tonnes. These figures decreased to 5 million tonnes by 1999 and then continued to fall by 2 million in the next six years.
Industry counted for the highest amount of air pollutant was 5.5 million tonnes while these figures for household and transportation were approximately 1.0 million tonnes. The decline was in air pollution from the industrial sector during 15 years, from 5.5 million tonnes to just about 3.1 million tonnes. In contrast, transportation source of air pollutants remained stably approximately 1 million tonnes between 1999 and 2005, whereas the amount air pollution from household saw decreased to 0.1 million tonnes by 2005.
