The presented line graph illustrates the data about four elements of sources of air pollutants measured per million tonnes in the UK within the timespan of 15 years, between 1990 and 2005.
As is observed, total air pollutants and the line of industry witnessed a sharp decline while transport and household started at the same point and after which those figures changed slightly.
In 1990, there were approximately 7 million tonnes of air pollutants, at which point this figure started to fall dramatically to 4 million in 1999. After that, it continued experiencing a dip to just over 3.5 million at the end of the period. The number of air pollutants released by the industry, which was predominantly substantial, had nearly 5.5 million tonnes at the beginning and this was followed by a noticeable collapse to roughly 2 million in 2005.
Over the same period, although transport and household were identical starting at just under 1 million, there was a downward tendency in the households and this figure went down to about 0.1 million when finishing whereas the line of transport stayed almost constant at approximately 1 million.
