Overall, it is clear that Switzerland showed the highest level of employment in both years. In addition, the proportion of men and women who had jobs increased in all countries in a 10-year period

In 1995, nearly 70% of men in Switzerland and Iceland were offered jobs, followed by 60% in Newzealand and USA. Australia had the lowest employment rate, at about 56%. Besides, the proportion of women with jobs was the highest in Switzerland, and that in the UK was at the second position. The percentage of females in UK was marginally higher than in USA. Meanwhile, the rates in Australia and New Zealand were equal at around 27%.
From 1995 to 2005, the figure for men rose around 10% in most countries, except UK where recorded a 13% increase. This period also showed a gradual rise by 10% in the proprortion of women in nearly all of countries, with the exceptions of USA and Newzealand, whose gaps between two years were about 15%.
