Immigration showed fluctuations in between 1999 and 2007 after which it increased slightly from just under 600 thousands to nearly 600 thousands. Similarly, emigration experienced oscillations for over a period of 3 years and remained stable at almost 350 thousands people from 2002 to 2003. During 2003-2007, it showed palpitations and rose rapidly to just over 300 thousands people in 2008.
As observed from the bar graph, in 1999, below 200 thousands people migrated from and to Britain which continued almost same in between 1999 and 2003. After that, it's number was nearly doubled in 2004 which was the highest number over the period. It fell slowly to slightly over 200 thousands people and there was no change for two years. Finally, the figure reached to below 200 thousands in the end of the period.
Overall, immigration was the largest in the beginning and in the end of the period. Most of the people migrated in the year 2004 whereas the least number moved in 2003.
